Breaking cycles of chronic stress and trauma together.
Growing Together is a Tuscaloosa based 501(c)(3) nonprofit building an Alabama model for trauma-informed community well-being. We connect education, wellness resources, youth and family support, and professional training to help people and communities heal, grow, and create a different future for the next generation.
TRAUMA INFORMED CARE FOR GENERATIONAL HEALING
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS
Healing begins with understanding and grows through support.
Chronic stress and trauma do not stay contained inside one person. They shape homes, schools, workplaces, courtrooms, healthcare settings, and the very world we are building. Too often, people are left to navigate their pain alone, or they encounter systems that respond to symptoms without understanding what is underneath.
Growing Together exists to help our community respond with more compassion, more understanding, and more meaningful support.
We do this by making trauma education more accessible, connecting people with trusted wellness resources, building partnerships across community systems, and creating support for young people and families most impacted by adversity.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that healing is not only personal. It is relational, communal, and generational. And when people have support, skills, and connection, the effects spread outward. Families grow stronger. Communities become more resilient. The future changes.
We believe a world rooted in healing would be a fundamentally different world. One where safety, connection, and care are not the exception, but the norm.
Our Work In Action
WHAT WE'RE GROWING TOGETHER
Connecting residents with local wellness providers, practitioners, nonprofits, and healing resources through accessible community gatherings like our Annual Tuscaloosa Wellness Fest
Bringing professionals and community leaders together through the Southeast Regional Trauma & Stress Summit to deepen trauma-informed care across disciplines.
Making support easier to find through Tuscaloosa's Guide to Well-Being, a printed and digital resource connecting people with wellness education, local providers, and community support.
Equipping young people and families navigating the effects of trauma with tools to regulate emotions, build connection, strengthen healthy coping skills, and grow in resilience beyond crisis.
Your donation expands trauma-informed education, community programs, resource connection, and youth and family resilience initiatives. With your support, more people can access the understanding, tools, relationships, and care that make healing possible. Together, we can help healing take root and ripple outward into a future where safety, connection, and love grow for generations.
